Hello VNHS  Party Alumni,

Below is an invitation to a party that you are invited to attend?
The '66 class every few years (in-between reunions) throws a party
at someone's home ( similar to high school right, but with a bit more maturity).

Several members of other classes have also joined us and we wish

to encourage and welcome all 60's alumni.

These get togethers create an opportunity to get to know your friends again on a  different level, after 40 years of life's dents and bruises and polishing. The parties are  informal and friendly and have started many new relationships.

So you are warmly invited to join us in the fun of reconnecting with friends from our school days.

Ciao! Classes of 1960's Van Nuys High Alumni,

In the immortal words of Chef Luigi   "The Tower of Pizza  it's a falling, it's a falling!”

Remember the Sepulveda Drive-in  (who doesn't) before the movies would start, they would try and get you to  buy  a pizza and other stuff  at the food concession ?

Well, in the any excuse for a party tradition of the 60's we are having an Italian Dinner Party!

And like our Sports Nights  and Drive-In's of our youthful past, it is "open" to all and any who wish to  mingle with friends old and new from Van Nuys High.

The party will be Saturday, February 7th in Sherman Oaks. (details below) It  might be a little chilly so wear your letterman's jacket  or class sweater or something else from our school days. We will warm you up with  some tasty Italian food  catered by one of the Valley's finest  restaurants Pomodoro  of Sherman Oaks.

So come for the Great Food, but stay for the Party!  (games and more)

The  Menu is well tested by the locals and rates quite high in taste and quality.

We will have a variety of antipasti appetizers, salads and main dishes plus dessert ,  some examples of possible dishes:

Ravioli di Zucca roasted butternut squash ravioli with parmesan, brown butter, sage and crumbled amaretti

Asparagi grilled asparagus with arugula, extra virgin olive oil and pecorino

RomanoBruschetta grilled rustic bread with tomatoes, basil, garlic and olive oil

Insalata di Spinaci baby spinach with grilled red onions, tomatoes, pancetta, ricotta salata and walnuts

Cavolini brussels sprouts with onions, garlic, brown butter and sage

Spinaci sautéed spinach with garlic, pine nuts and olive oil

Ravioli di Magro ricotta and spinach ravioli with pomodoro or gorgonzola sauce

Gemelli gemelli pasta with smoked & grilled chicken, sun-dried tomatoes, mushrooms and cream

Frutti di Mare spaghetti with mussels, clams, shrimp, calamari and garlic in a light tomato sauce

Penne Portobello with roasted mushrooms, chicken and italian sausage in a roasted garlic cream sauce

Parmigiana chicken parmigiana with tomatoes, basil, asiago and penne with spinach

Verdure roasted brussels sprouts, zucchini, asparagus and broccoli with olive oil and garlic or spicy pomodoro sauce

Lasagna  traditional meat lasagna with  roasted mushrooms and fontina

As usual it will be BYOB, but keep in mind the Mediterranean theme....wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages. We will have a blender and be sharing.

Guess the drink list is the same no matter what the theme.

  The Details:

The cost will be $20 per person and  it would  be greatly appreciated if a check is mailed by January 30th. This is a bit more then our previous parties, but we want to emphasize the quality and the quantity of this delicious menu.
